Master’s Thesis
The topic of the Master’s Thesis is part of the subject of the Master’s scope and must utilize the knowledge, abilities, attitudes and skills acquired in the Master’s Thesis courses.
Following an Invitation from the Coordinating Committee, the student submits an application to the secretary, stating the proposed title of the Master’s Thesis, the proposed supervisor and all relevant supporting documents.
A student who does not submit the application within the specified deadline, postpones at his/her own risk, the start of the preparation of the Master’s Thesis by at least one semester.

The course aims to train the student in the organization of a research project in the field of Applied Bioinformatics and Data Analysis, within the framework of the Postgraduate Diploma Thesis. It includes the formulation of the research question, the research of the bibliography, the collection of the research material and data, the use and modification of the data, the selection of the appropriate tools and workflows for the analyses and the training in them. This is the first – mandatory – part of the Master Thesis.

By completing the thesis, students specialize in depth in one of the individual subjects of the Master Programme and gain familiarity with the workflow and tools and techniques required for applied bioinformatics and biological data analysis. The aim is to gain experience and skills in planning, implementing research, using tools and infrastructure, writing texts and presenting results.
